I Will Not Leave

from Missing Anchor by Simeon Peebler

/

about

Inspired by the Occupy Wall Street movement, Simeon wrote the first version of this song in October of 2011 less than a month after OWS began and released a free download of that version which is still available. This enhanced production on the "Missing Anchor" album brings with it an expanded spectrum of sound and instrumentation that also represents the evolution of his own writing and production.

lyrics

Hey friend, come down and play a while
Hey friend, come down and stay a while

When they say go, we'll say no
When they tell us to leave, we'll stand and scream
I will not leave
You will listen to me
I will not leave
You will listen to me

Hey friends, come to see
All the things that are bothering me
Hey friends, want to know
Why I'm here to take control

When they say go, we'll say no
When they tell us to leave, we'll stand and scream
I will not leave
You will listen to me
I will not leave
You will listen to me

We've all paid our dues
And we handed the power to you
Company man...it's time
It's time we get it back

I will not leave
You will listen to me
I will not leave
You will listen to me
We will not leave
We will not leave
