about

Commemorates the sinking of the Titanic, 100 years ago! I wrote it during Febraury Album Writing Month.

lyrics

A brand new ship took eager passengers and crew
Steaming from England bound for New York City
With extravagant quarters for the first class guests
and bare rooms for the low-class rest

Over forty-six thousand tons
Eight hundred eighty-two feet long
With twenty lifeboats on board
Only twenty lifeboats on board

For only ten seconds ice scraped the right side
But there was nothing they could do to save this flooded ride
First Class told they had to go
Boats were only half filled, Third Class waited below

Over forty-six thousand tons
Eight hundred eighty-two feet long
With twenty lifeboats on board
Only twenty lifeboats on board

It didn't take long for the ship to fall
Titanic broke apart in the freezing dark
Desperate for help, sending distress calls
Only a third of them survived, but every heart sank

Over forty-six thousand tons
Eight hundred eighty-two feet long
With twenty lifeboats on board
Only twenty lifeboats on board

Where are the lifeboats?
Where are the lifeboats?
Where are our lifeboats?
